Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

EoTD: Qualities - Fear

"Two dragons guard Fear's mansion. One is ceramic and Chinese, the other is real. If you make it past the dragons and speak to him close up, it is amazing to see how fragile he is."
— from The Book of Qualities by J. Ruth Gendler

Fear is a hindbrain survival trait that helps us survive - "stay away from things that are genuinely dangerous" - but it can also trick us into hiding behind walls of our own making and keep us from living life to its fullest, enjoying and sharing with those around us. The colors folks associated with Fear were green, black, and red. One person also mentioned holographic/colorshifting, which makes sense: fear is nebulous, always changing, you can't pin it down, and when you look straight at it oftentimes you'll find that it's far less substantial than you thought.

I wanted to do a look that suggested a sinister/smoky eye, wasn't softened, but was a look that was more bluff than substance, more shadows and intimation. That was my intent...but I didn't really have much of an idea how to pull it off. My execution skills were lacking. The look turned out more "muddy" than "sinister/smoky".
