After trying ColourPop's colored mascaras and watching colors keep going out of stock (or discontinued, it's not always easy to tell with ColourPop) I decided to try and find other colored mascaras. I didn't just want blackened colors, like L'Oreal and Makeup For Ever offer. I wanted the brighter colors, the more vivid shades, and I wanted a good white mascara.
Several China-based companies sell colored mascara, and it seems that most companies that currently sell a variety of colored mascara are China-based. This does mean that the longevity isn't fantastic, and it certainly won't hold a curl. This set, from manufacturer Handaiyan, doesn't even have labels on the tubes that indicates a color name or number. I had to label them with my metallic Sharpies - and even those won't stay on forever. And, of course, they come from China and they're super low-cost. They may have ingredients that give you problems if you have any chemical sensitivities. The formula can also be a little problematic. I do appreciate the short-bristled brush, though, because I have to get the wand right up against my lashes to make sure the mascara lays down a full coat. I've also found that I do get better results if I apply it over a layer of lash primer, and then pat on some setting spray. (Yes, I know. It's a make-do.) On the good side, the mascara doesn't flake away and doesn't rub off easily. However, it will melt off after a full day's wear.
There are about a handful of colored-mascara vendors that have sets available on Amazon. You can't find the individual tubes for sale on Amazon, though, so you'll likely end up with a color or two that you won't use. Alternately, AliExpress has lots of vendors who do sell both the sets and the individual tubes - which is good if you have a few colors that you use a lot more, and so will need to replace those sooner.
