L’Oréal’s Brit Invasion

This looked really interesting in the bottle! A dusky purple with gold shimmer, very attractive. Sadly…the reality is less thrilling. This isn't an ugly polish, it merely doesn't live up to its visual advertising.

First off, the polish is more of a cool taupe than a dusky purple. It can lean a little more toward purple-taupe depending on lighting, but not all that much. Second, the gold shimmer is there, but it isn't nearly as plentiful on the nail as it appeared in the bottle. Third…the damn thing's uneven. Two coats left some spots semi-transparent. Three coats still left some thinner patches. And I was only able to wear this for about 12 hours before I started noticing heavier tip wear. Great concept for the polish, both in terms of base color and effects. Unfortunately, the execution left something to be desired.
