MAC’s Heritage Rouge pigment

I snapped this color up as soon as I saw it on the MAC site. I was hoping that this would be a similar shade to Bare Escentuals' Here Kitty, but with a bit more depth. I got the “same shade” part of my wish. The more depth…? Not quite so much.

This is a near-metallic burgundy pearl. The coverage is even, and there's definitely color payoff. Some of that color payoff is just negated by the pearl finish, more specifically the light reflecting from it. The color is deep enough that it can work as a liner shade, but it works much better if you pat it on over a still-damp cream or gel liner - even if it's not jet black or darkest deep brown. Now that I've said this, I'm wondering how this will look over dark purple! (Or even something kind of shocking, like yellow or orange - two of the liner colors I picked up at IMATS.)
