MAC’s Let’s Skate paint pot

If you're expecting a full-coverage paint pot, the ones from Glitter and Ice would have been a bad choice.

But if you're looking for a sheer or semisheer wash of color with a good sparkle effect, you would have loved these.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeliner tube or pencil barrel; top right, the eyeliner applied over bare skin, to better show the shade and properties; and below, the eyeliner applied on the eyelid at the lash line.

Pretty much by accident, I happened to add all three of the paint pots in this collection to my own hoard. I wasn't expecting them to have the relative lack of coverage that they did, so when I swatched For Effect, I was not thrilled. About a year later, when I swatched Let's Skate, I knew that it would not be full color - so that wasn't an issue. I do like the effects of the sparkle-plus-sheer-color better when it's a lighter base, like either Let's Skate or Morning Frost.

The main issue I have with this one is that the sparkle tends to loosen as the day goes along. I haven't noticed this with many other MAC paint pots, and it's not like I have fallout after the first few hours; but after 7 or 8 hours I'll see a very stealthy migration of the sparkle…from my eyelids, to just below my eyes.
