Yellow eyeshadows and cool-toned people are an interesting mix. Honey-mustard yellows like this one are an especial challenge for me to wear well…but it is possible. (And honey-mustard yellows look better on me than pure mustard-yellows. Go figure.) This shade also has gold and pink scattered shimmer, which adds to the color's unique appeal while also limiting the colors that I can pair it with. It looks good with slate-purples and -blues, or deeper neutral browns. Deeper warm browns paired with this color would probably look amazing on warm-toned skin or near brown or hazel eyes, but with my blue-grey eyes and cool skintone - definite no-go.

If I found the right shade of smoked burgundy, I might be able to wear this color with that…but the reddish plus this yellowish could also make my eyes look like a bruise. Still, it's an experiment that should be tried. And I'm determined to find good ways to wear this color! It's a unique shade, a grounded non-gold yellow. With the right shadow combination, I think it could look very interesting, even with my coloring.
