Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

News Roundup for week 14, 2011

I don't have much news this week. Also, for some reason this week, I've been unusually sluggish and tired. It may have to do with the fact that my city hasn't seen appreciable sun in over a month. (Apparently we not only gave up sunlight for Lent, we started Lent on February 21st.) I've also been cold, and so have been…hibernating a bit more this past week.

Up and Coming

No word yet on whether or not Zoya will be holding an Earth Day promotion this year. But I'm already seeing a steady increase in folks searching for "Zoya Earth Day promo"...so I'm guessing that if they do hold it again, the servers will be pummelled not just in the first weeks of the sale, but throughout the entire event. (And -=if=- they have this promo and if you were hoping to score any polishes from the summer collections...they might all sell out in the first week. Unless Zoya's made A LOT in anticipation of this event.)

Initial photos of the Sleek summer collections, Mediterranean and Caribbean, have been making the rounds of various (mostly British) beauty blogs. The iDivine palettes for these two collections, Monaco (6 mattes, 6 shimmers - Mediterranean collection) and Curaçao (6 mattes, 6 shimmers - Caribbean collection), look gorgeous! I've recently fallen rather hard for the iDivine palettes, and since these contain shimmers (which seem to behave better than Sleek's pressed matte polishes) I'm hoping to get one or both.

Good Reads

I have no idea what's wrong with me. I just didn't find anything super-compelling in the various blog posts I read throughout the week. I'm pretty sure it was me, and not a specific posting slump among everyone else in the beauty blogosphere. I've been rather distracted and harried with the new manager at work (our team actually has one now, after being left to our own devices for over a year) so that's probably had something to do with it.

...actually, you can go check out Leanne's post about Sleek's Mediterranean summer collection, and see why I'm all atwitch.

Items of Note

For anyone wondering...Sally Hansen's Xtreme Wear polishes make pretty good nail stamping polishes. Just stick with the creme or metallic finishes (not anything like a microglitter, like Blizzard Blue or VIP Pink, or any semisheers like Lime Lights or Virtual Violet) and you'll be able to get good nail stamp-usable polishes at a rather nice price. (I haven't tried using any of Wet and Wild's .99 cent polishes for nail stamping. If those work...then, yowza, I've got some stocking up to do!!)

I did kick off the beauty-basics series, and will be continuing it this Sunday.
