NYX Cosmetics’ Epic Wear Liquid Liner collection

Liquid liners in saturated shades with a well-pigmented formula. What could go wrong?

Well…

To start off, these liners do stay put amazingly well once they’re in place. These are the antithesis of the Vivid Brights, which are bright liquid liners that have all the staying power of a kitten’s attention span. There’s black and brown, grey and white, a brighter blue, and red, yellow, and lilac. (No orange, no green. But I do like all the neutrals and the mix of non-neutral colors.) These are made for face and body art, not just eyeliners.

That last bit may be why this has some drawbacks as an eyeliner. The formula is thick enough that it clings to the brush, making fine lines a little tricky. I’ve started using some of my other eyeliner brushes to get the product off of its native applicator so that I have a bit more control when I’m applying it to my eyelids. The formula applies a bit unevenly, either highlighting every line in the skin or clumping up into a large, shiny, hard-to-dry lump of color.
