I remember the old Sally Hansen Crystal Chromes: metallic colors in shades very similar to this, but a slightly smaller shade range…and a bit brushstrokey, AND rather fragile. Oh, yes, and any topcoat really muted the metallic effects. But they were still gorgeous, and I was very sad the day that I finally had to give up on my last Crystal Chrome (a soft chrome-blue.) Over the nearly ten years that I owned it, the formula separated one time too many, and no amount of stirring or hopeful pleading would get it back into a useful condition again. Also by then, more nail polish companies were coming out with metallic-finish nail polishes.
But I still really missed my much-loved Crystal Chromes.

These new foil polishes apply fairly easily, great spreadability and fairly good durability. The finish isn't a mirror-bright “Minx manicure”, but it's definitely reflective. It's more like a “slightly clouded chrome” finish - like a chilled bumper. I did have a few problems when I tried to apply some of the polishes over different nail-treatment coats (ironically, Sally Hansen's Color Foils do not play well with Sally Hansen Gel Strengthener nor Sally Hansen Miracle Nail Thickener) and one color was a bit different than I expected; but of the nine polishes that I have, over half of them could have been one-coat polishes.
The formula is thicker than many “chrome” polishes - almost as thick as China Glaze's Khrome-collection polishes. I can see myself using these in nail stamping, and getting some truly amazing effects!!
These polishes are limited-edition so if you want to get these, get these now!
