Sally Hansen’s Emerald City

I'd been looking for a good rich non-blackened green creme for nail art, so was glad to see this. Then I was glad that this applied so smoothly and wore so well.
Then I was un-glad to find out that Sally Hansen had discontinued this color. So I went on a mad spree through several local stores, keeping my eyes open for another bottle (or three) of Emerald City. I eventually found two backups: one for me, one as a gift.

I got full coverage in two coats. The finish was a little shimmery, and showed a few brushstrokes. (Or maybe it's just time to buff my nails again. Who knows…) As with most other Xtreme Wear polishes I've used, I was able to wear this for three days with no top coat, and no chipping or tip wear.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

Sally Hansen's site says that folks who miss this color should look at its “replacement”, Going Green. That color is also a green creme, but it's a little brighter. Kin but not kind. If you happen to see Emerald City at your local Rite-Aid, CVS, Walgreen's, or other drugstore chain…buy a bottle before they're all gone.
