Sally Hansen’s VIP Pink

I got this because, in the bottle, it looked like an interesting watermelon-ish pink. It is a nice shade…but it's semisheer - like Knotty and Lighthouse from China Glaze's Anchors Away collection. I am not a huge fan of sheer or semisheer nail polishes, and prefer to know in advance if a polish is going to be nicely opaque or will essentially be left as a layering polish. (I don't often do layers, simply because I haven't taken the time to really figure out which layered polishes will look good together. I could experiment and learn, but that's a bit too much hassle for me at this point. Some folks don't like to figure out their own eyeshadow color combinations. I don't like to figure out nail-polish-layering combinations.)

Like the other semisheer colors I own (which also include Raine from Zoya - and I love that polish) it is possible to wear this as a standalone color. It just takes four coats for complete opacity and even coverage.

If you're interested in this shade, best find it now - the color is listed as “Discontinued” on the Sally Hansen web site.
