Sephora’s Contour Eye Pencil in Banana Split

This was one of the first colors I reached for when I decided to buy some of these pencils and try the line out. (The Sephora cashier reminded me about the Ten Shades of Samba collection, which contained this, another I was going to get, and several others besides.) I don't know how often I'll ear this on its own, but I can see doing a “triple stripe” featuring this in between Diamonds Are Forever (silver) and Black Lace (...black, of course.) Or a tri-color horizontal liner design with this, Romantic Comedy, and Fairytale.

Yeah. I've got Ideas now.

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeliner tube or pencil barrel; top right, the eyeliner applied over bare skin, to better show the shade and properties; and below, the eyeliner applied on the eyelid at the lash line.

While I love this color, it wasn't the easiest to apply. It skipped a bit, leaving some bald patches. I can probably fix that with a more careful lining technique; but I didn't notice this behavior from some of the other Contour Liner Pencils that I tried. I had to go over the area a few times and go a bit more slowly to get an even swatch, but I did get a nice, solid block of color.

The color itself is a bit richer than NYX's Jumbo Eye Pencil in yellow. I haven't yet compared it to Stila's Canary Smudge Stick to see how close these two eyeliners are, shade-wise.
