Sparklecrack Central’s Rock the Planets review

I’ve figured out which colors to mix with which duochrome micas; and I’ve combined the colors into their mixing baggies. I might wait until tomorrow to put them into their proper pots, only because I’m feeling a bit bleary tonight and don’t want to spill things all over the place.

Each jar of Rocks! Sonic color from Aromaleigh contained roughly 1.2 grams of product - and I used two jars. Each duochrome-mica Interplanetary Traveller sample from TKB Trading contained 1 teaspoon of product - which equals 4.75 grams. So I ended up with 2.5 grams of color, and nearly twice that amount of the duochrome mica. The colors were lightened a little bit, but I haven’t tested any of them so I don’t know how they’ll apply.

I used:

  • The combination of Blueorchid with Travel to Neptune looks very interesting, at least in the bag. A softened indigo with blue/green/silver iridescence.
  • Prettyvacant doesn't seem to have lost much of its color intensity. It's combined with Travel to Mars, which should give it red and copper flashes, so warm plus warm there.
  • Swampthing was purchased a) because it's one of my favorite colors, it matches my eyes almost exactly; and b) it's the calmest of the Rocks colors. Mixed with its duochrome mica, the color looks slightly softened...but it's mixed with Travel to Earth, which has flashes of green and rose.
  • Teenagekicks is mixed with Travel to Neptune, which should give the hot pink a cool flash. That combination sounds almost as interesting as FrankenSwamp's hazel-slate with red/green duochrome.
  • Figuring out which duochrome to mix with Atomic was something of a chore. I wanted an interesting finished product, but didn't want to utterly lose the yellow.
