Sunday Roundup for December 4, 2010

Please pardon the gaps...

The site is in mid-migration now (manual migration of over 7,000 entries, so there's a lot to be done.) The entry stubs are created for older content, but for the most part, the actual content isn't there quite yet. I am working on it. Unfortunately I have no ETA. But feel free to link to any page! When the content does get populated, the URL will stay the same.

Sunday Roundup for December 4, 2010

I had a burst of efficiency, and I've got posts scheduled out for the next two months. I just have to do some finishing bits - some photos, a writeup-tweak here and there, et cetera. That's calmed my days down somewhat, which is good...seeing as how I seem to be coming down with strep throat, and I need my sleep. On the other hand, it means that I've got more time for things like weekly wrapup posts. Sometimes there's stuff going on, sometimes there's not...but I kind of like doing them, anyhow.

  • Bare Escentuals has released three more kits in time for the holidays: The More The Merrier collection, a 15-piece collection of mini-size items (but nothing new) available through the BE webstore; the 15-piece Bells and Whistles collection, which likewise includes all mini-size items and no new colors; and Bare Escentuals' ode to excess, the Ultimate Luxe collection, which retails for $750 and is actually a re-release from spring 2010 and also contains no new colors (but at least all the items are all full-size). The last two are QVC exclusive kits. I'll list the contents later today.
  • Meow Cosmetics is running a 12 Days of Christmas series of giveaways...and a sale. It kicked off two days ago: everyone who places an order on a given day will be eligible to win a prize, with a different prize each day (and an ever-increasing number of prizes: one item, then two, then three...and so forth). At the end of the series (December 15th), everyone who's ordered during the 12-day sale will be put in another drawing to win a grand prize containing every single prize-item given away in the previous twelve days. It's kind of cool, if you've been planning on ordering from Meow. There's also a 20% off code, good for anything on the site: SantaKitty. So if you order from Meow any day between now and December 15th, you get: 1) 20% off; 2) free shipping (order minimums for non-US customers); and 3) chances to win prizes. Honestly, it's a win-win! Check out their mailing for contest and discount details (and don't forget to sign up for their mailing list to get information about all their sales and promotions.)
  • Aromaleigh is entering its final days. Last notice that I saw was that the online store would close to new orders "around 12/10 - 12/15." They've released a "final" collection that I mentioned a bit ago, Astronomical, that I wouldn't be checking out simply because I have collection-fatigue. Well, the good news is that now bloggers are starting to post their reviews of the collection - so if you wanted to see some other swatch photos and read reviews, now you can do so. Check Aromaleigh v1's Twitter feed and blog for the latest listed updates and reviews.
  • This past week I reviewed Meow's holiday collections and some of the final purchases I made from Aromaleigh. Hope you all enjoyed them! I do have some other Aromaleigh items that haven't arrived yet - shipping and order turnaround delays being what they are - and I'll be profiling those in a few weeks. They include Promise, Suzanne Marie Rose, some more Pure Drama shades, and two more of the Rocks! Sonic Rouge colors (Wildflower and Sininsterrouge). I'll be profiling those in early January. (And I'll be reviewing the rest of Meow's holiday collections - Reindeer, Sugarplums, Snowflakes, and Winter Spirits - in the week before Christmas.)
  • The first winter giveaway winner will be announced in eleven days, on December 16th. I'll contact the winners (one US, one international) via email. Meanwhile...the second giveaway has begun! Open to US and international, it requires that you be registered by December 15th - so new folks can register and be eligible for that giveaway, as well as the great big huge one I'm having in January.
  • This week, Zoya's microglitter polishes (Magique and Flame collections), plus a review of Zoya's color lock system!
