Urban Decay’s 24-7 Eye Pencil in Mainline

This pencil was the primary reason I got interested in the Smoked collection. It's a gorgeous teal-blue shade that doesn't seem to appear all that often in makeup - not for nails, nor eyeshadows, nor eyeliners. I don't know if that's because there's less perceived demand for this shade, it's cyclical/a trend-only color (unlike classics like navy, dark brown, deep green, or dark purple) or if it has been available and I just haven't noticed it.

Coverage is very solid, very even. I did have problems with applying this a little too heavily, because the pencil was so soft. I don't know if all of Urban Decay's mattes will be like this, or if it was just this pencil combined with my application technique. I couldn't really tightline with this pencil, unless I applied and then used a brush to spread it out. I'd have some time to do that because while the color does stay put, there's about a 15-second window where the color is still movable.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeliner tube or pencil barrel; top right, the eyeliner applied over bare skin, to better show the shade and properties; and below, the eyeliner applied on the eyelid at the lash line.
