Near-metallic finish, and a softened gold that can easily be worn without it looking too…eh, what's the word I'm looking for. Well, I can't figure it out, so I'll just say that this makes a good corporate-office-safe metallic gold eyeshadow, how's that?
Fairly decent color payoff, even coverage, nice depth without throwing the color too far into “brown” territory, and very attractive gold shimmer that's far, far more visible when this color is applied damp.
The description called this a “bold hot pink”, but…well, it's not, really. It's a bright-ish bubblegum pink, and the coverage is a little heavier than most Meow eyeshadows. The color payoff in itself can be a good enough reason to check this shadow out.
I spent the rest of my Saturday doing what so many beauty bloggers do: swatching things. I've got eyeshadows swatched out through the end of August, so I got a dozen more lipcolors queued up. I like the laquer and matte balm colors well enough, but I really wish that...
An excellent neutral cream shadow - definitely more of an accent or highlighter, than a standalone color. It is semisheer and doesn't apply 100% evenly, so be aware of that. The color is so soft and so close to my skintone, that the patchiness isn't all that obvious. (And I'm sure...
It's bright, it's intense, there's just the faintest bit of shimmer…and it appears to apply about the same as most other Urban Decay matte eyeliner pencils: uneven, patches and clumps, difficult to make into a nice line without a ridiculously steady hand and possibly a guide or two. And...
One of BareMinerals' “cheek tints” - a line of more vivid, intense cheek colors that had less shimmer and more pigmentation than the regular Bare Escentuals blushes. The idea was launched, but aside from three or four colors, it never seemed to gain much traction before the Ready blushes came...
This lipstick applied just a little less cool than the name implied. Not much; but the base color plus the faint gold shimmer gave this more of a “candied berry” appearance than the richer, magenta- or fuchsia-toned red that I often visualize when something's described as “berry red”.
Metallic silver-grey with undertones of rose-mauve - where some eyeshadows and eyeliners are blackened, and My Pretty Zombie's Blue Period Trio has deep blue undertones, this color has a mauve-rose undercolor. It interacts with the metallic silver in interesting ways.
