Aromaleigh v2’s Starry Night collection

Aromaleigh v2’s Starry Night collection

The second collection from Aromaleigh v2…pretty colors, but for whatever reason, not too many of them speak to me personally, so I’m only getting three (and no samples.) With everything that’s been going on in the past three months, I’m kind of approaching burnout, so to...

Shiro Cosmetics’ Notebook collection

Shiro Cosmetics’ Notebook collection

The fourth - and, thus far, the smallest - collection from Shiro Cosmetics. There have been kits that have been smaller, certainly - iShadow, Kawaii - but this is the smallest collection released (the others have all had upwards of two dozen shades.) The colors I did not get are:...

China Glaze’s Let It Snow collection

China Glaze’s Let It Snow collection

The first collection I’ve been interested in since the spring/summer Anchors Away - partially because I find myself drawn to metallic golds and silvers, even though by now I have quite a few good ones. A nice mix of creme and shimmer finishes, with some glitters - a...

China Glaze’s Poetic

China Glaze’s Poetic

Lovely color…but the visible brushstrokes!! Why, China Glaze, do you tease us so! A dozen lovely metallic shades, most pastel-ish some a bit deeper, but all with this same spreadability problem!! The upside is that this truly is a lovely color…and it works fine when I use it...

OPI’s Fireflies

OPI’s Fireflies

If you took Sally Hansen's Hidden Treasure flakie polish and made a non-flakie version…Fireflies is what you'd get. It's got enough pigmentation that I didn't have any VNL after three coats, and I had a really nice opalescent shifting color.

This was listed as being a semisheer, but it's got fairly good coverage if I apply it more thickly. Three (admittedly heavy) coats gave me full coverage. I wish this color hadn't been discontinued! I see why it was, though: people who tend to favor purple nail polishes want something...

Aromaleigh v1’s Wildflower blush

Aromaleigh v1’s Wildflower blush

When the company was up and open and business-as-usual, no closure news loomed on the horizon, I decided against this blush color. Yes, I gravitate toward cooler blushes; and I love Aromaleigh v1's Borealis which is too purple for some folks to use, even if it is a pale...

BareMinerals’ Pretty Amazing Lip Color in Confidence

BareMinerals’ Pretty Amazing Lip Color in Confidence

Posted on Tuesday, at

This is an excellent color for me! It's my second favorite shade, right behind Fearless (which is my absolute favorite of the first-released colors.) I do wish that the applicators were less irritating, so that I didn't effectively waste so much product whenever I try applying with them. As it...

Tarte’s Lipsurgence in Moody

Tarte’s Lipsurgence in Moody

This color looks a lot darker than it applies; and there's no matte version of the color. (The matte Lipsurgences have better color payoff, in my experience. They also tend to show truer to how they appear…which would mean a very dark wine-red lip color that I probably couldn't...

Silk Naturals’ Kickstart

Silk Naturals’ Kickstart

Predominantly grey…with either lavender or green tints that show, depending on the lighting. Almost as if Wet n Wild's nail polish Gray's Anatomy were made into an eyeshadow: yes, it's a multichrome, but the first impression you get is “cool grey shimmer”.
