Evil Shades’ Aureate
- Manufacturer: Evil Shades
- Availability: released in winter 2010 as part of the Auld Lang Syne collection
- Color Range: pale yellow-gold shimmer
- Staying Power: 3 out of 4 stars
- Cost/Amount: $5.00 for 1.5 grams (5-gram jar with sifter)
- Would you purchase again: no
- Similar shades: Everyday Minerals' Beverly Hills (lighter base color)
This color looked like it might be a butter-gold, in the photos. It is…but it’s rather sheer, which is something of a disappointment. It doesn’t feel chalky, which is good; and there was fallout only when I tried to pack on enough color to get a better color payoff.
Aromaleigh v1’s Ringoffire
- Vendor: Aromaleigh v1
- Availability: released as part of Aromaleigh v1's Rocks! Sonic Eyes collection
- Color Range: vivid warm red sparkle
- Staying Power: 4 out of 4 stars
- Cost/Amount: USD$8 for 1.2 grams; $1.30 for a sample baggie
- Would you purchase again: yes
- Similar shades: Sassy Minerals' Ruby Slippers (slight difference in pigmentation levels)
For some reason, I decided against getting this color when Aromaleigh was open (even though I did buy some of the other reds from that line.) I’m very glad that I got this in the grab-bags! It’s a bolder red with red and silver sparkle, but it’s not so orange a red that it doesn’t look good on me.
Shiro Cosmetics’ Everything Is Bears
- Manufacturer: Shiro Cosmetics
- Availability: through the webstore; not part of a collection
- Color Range: brown with gold sparkle
- Staying Power: 4 out of 4 stars
- Cost/Amount: USD$5 for 1.8 - 2.0 grams
- Would you purchase again: yes
- Similar shades: Bare Escentuals' Tiger's Eye (more gold sparkle)
I wasn’t all that sure about this color when it debuted - I have lots of browns, so wasn’t sure that it would work well. It’s like BE’s Tiger’s Eye, with more sparkle. I’m glad I got it!! There’s a tiny bit more fallout than with most of Shiro’s near-matte shades, but nowhere near as much fallout as superglittery colors from Urban Decay (or even as much as the sparklier Rocks! Sonic Eye colors.)
