BareMinerals’ Custom Blends Volume III kit

The various Custom Blends kits were somewhat interesting to me. The first one was all softer shades and I wasn’t too keen on grabbing them. The second one looked okay, but I wasn’t totally sold. The third one had more deeper, more saturated colors.

All of the colors in this collection are 1::1 mixes of existing BareMinerals colors. As of two years ago (when this collection was released), Ecstacy and Nice Rock were the only shades that weren’t easily available for purchase - though I think Nice Rock was released in a 2012 holiday kit.

This kit contained:

  • Overjoyed (Bliss and Joy)
  • Smokin' Hot (Ecstacy and Nice Rock)
  • Stardust (Phoebe and Surprise)
  • Superstar (Twilight and Believe)

Overjoyed and Stardust are my favorites. Smokin' Hot is an interesting purplish-brown with a slight duotone shift, but it's also a bit less than perfectly opaque. Superstar has the same issue: it has solid coverage, but not totally opaque coverage.
