BareMinerals’ Leslie’s Three Wishes kit

I held off on this kit because I figured: it’s another BE kit from QVC. The fill levels will be pretty poor…as has (in)famously happened with several recent QVC kits, like Destination Key West and the Most Wanted Volume III. And it’ll probably be sheer colors anyway…as has been the case with many BE kits. I finally broke down in mid-December, when many items were on sale (buy multiples, save $4 on the 2nd, 3rd, et cetera kits; plus get deeply discounted shipping). All of these colors were new, the kit was priced below-retail for three full-size eye colors, and they were full-size eye colors not the mini-jars.

The three kits shipped in two separate packages. Why QVC didn't ship them all in one package and save themselves some money, I'll never know. Maybe they've got a bulk deal with the post office whereby they get a slightly discounted shipping rate as long as they ship a minimum of X number of packages in a calendar year, and they needed to make their quota to keep the deal in place for 2011? At any rate, one package arrived a day before the other. The fill levels in all three were very good - granted these aren't the outer-sealed jars of old that didn't have sifters and were filled to the brim with product; but all of the three jars were full. The contents didn't settle and leave 1/2- or 1/3-volume of empty space when the jar was tilted on its side, which is how many of us confirmed the egregiously poor fill levels in previous kits. The colors were also a nice surprise: all new, very pigmented (even the pale gold-green Dandelion), with very smooth application and decent adhesion. If this - the colors, the pigmentation, the fill levels, the price point - represents the shape of things to come from the now-Shiseido-owned Bare Escentuals, they may regain some former fans. There seems to be some confusion as to the kit name: the tip card that came with the kit called this the "I Wish" kit, but the QVC listing calls it "Leslie's Three Wishes".
