BareMinerals’ Naturally Luminous kit

I think this is tied in with the new skincare line - the kit-packaging is highly similar in design, and the eyecolors and the blush are described as “moisture-infused” - which sounds like the Hydrating Mineral Veil, or the Hydrating Coral colors of previous kits / releases. I don’t know if that moisture-infusion affects the shelf-life of the colors or not, but it makes me a tad anxious. I got this kit mostly for the blush, which looks lovely; the Charbronze liner, which isn’t available elsewhere (yet); and the full tapered eyeshadow brush, which is one of the more useful brushes in BE’s lineup.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

BareMinerals’ Naturally Luminous kit
  • Refresh — dewy mint green shimmer
  • Restore — golden brown shimmer
  • Miracle — pink fuchsia sheen
  • Charbronze — blackened brown with bronze sheen
  • Fruit Smoothie — pink glaze
  • Full tapered eyeshadow brush

The liner is an interesting color. Hopefully they'll make it available individually, and not just keep releasing it in kits. The eyecolors are okay - not fantastic, but not hideous. They're definitely not up to the pigmentation or intensity levels of the Three Wishes kit released in fall 2010. (Someone on another forum pointed out that for the past year - roughly since the sale to Shiseido - over half of the new BE kits have contained either a green eyeshadow, a purple eyeshadow, or both. So at least they're out of the browns for a bit...) The blush is a definite vivid pink that I like quite a bit. It's similar to Hot Spot, but a bit more sheer. I immediately put the lipgloss in my "giveaway extras" bin, because while I have tried BE's lip glosses, I strongly dislike the texture of them. (I suspected as much, but gave them a try when the new formula came out.)

For me, these colors work best when paired with other colors I own - not worn as this kit. Refresh is my least favorite color in this kit. I love Miracle blush, and like the Charbronze eyeliner.

If you missed the chance to get this when it was on QVC, you should start seeing this kit in the BE boutiques sometime in May 2011. I haven't seen any information on whether or not this particular kit will be available through any other channel partners.
