China Glaze’s New Bohemian Luster Chrome collection

I was so excited when I first saw a few scattered promo pics about this! An entire collection of duochromes! I had trouble finding a release date, and finally took to China Glaze’s Facebook page to ask them flat out: so when will we be seeing these? The polishes were available through etailers and retailers beginning in early to mid-July 2012, and I eagerly bought four of the six. These polishes retailed for higher than other China Glaze polishes (except perhaps the Magnetix polishes, which were $10 apiece.) All of the polishes were a metallic finish. About half of the colors actually were very obvious visible duo- or multi-chrome colors; the other three, less so.

All of the colors show brushstrokes a little bit. Not quite as obviously as the colors from the Romantique collections; but they still show. The formulas are a little bit on the sheer side, and most of these colors required three coats to get full, even coverage. Swanky Silk, Rare and Radiant, and Unpredictable display the multichromatic color shifts, while the color-shifting effects are almost invisible on Deviantly Daring, No Plain Jane, and Want My Bawdy.

This collection contained:

  • Deviantly Daring — metallic peacock-teal blue shimmer
  • No Plain Jane — metallic magenta-pink with a very faint gold duochrome shimmer
  • Rare and Radiant — metallic cool bronzed gold with green-blue duochrome shimmer
  • Swanky Silk — metallic bronze-gold with a bronze-rose duochrome shimmer
  • Unpredictable — metallic medium-light green with blue-green duochrome shimmer
  • Want My Bawdy — metallic indigo-violet blue shimmer
