CND’s Vinylux Modern Folklore collection

This Fall 2014 collection includes some of my first “full-size” Vinylux purchases. Indigo Frock caught my attention fairly quick, as did Rose Brocade. The overall palette is richer, autumnal-ish saturated shades with one metallic accent. A few of the other shades aren’t personal favorites, but the formula is great. (Buying this also let me find out just how well Vinylux would stay on my nails - and gave me the ability to test out several colors/formulas, rather than trying just one and basing my decision on that alone. So…here’s to the Collection That Started The Habit!)

Indigo Frock turned out darker than I'd anticipated, but Plum Paisley looked better on me than I thought it would. Locket Love is a metallic gold, not necessarily unique…and I needed three coats for full opacity. But once applied, I got just over a week of solid wear.

This collection contained:

  • Crimson Sash — metallic maroon shimmer
  • Fine Vermillion — metallic medium-deep shimmer
  • Indigo Frock — midnight-blue creme
  • Locket Love — semisheer metallic gold shimmer
  • Plum Paisley — deep warm plum creme
  • Rose Brocade — pinked red creme
  • ...and a bottle of the UV-activated top coat, without which Vinylux won't last nearly as long. (I know. I tried. I got two days with no chips or tipwear, which is about what my other polishes give me.)
