Color Club’s Girl About Town collection

Color-wise, these don’t really seem to have a theme. The palette is all over the place. The colors are interesting, definitely; and there’s a nice mix of finishes (chrome, flakie, microglitter…) but I wasn’t seeing a theme. I did some research, and all that I could find was a list from Forbes Magazine 2012 of the top “hipster neighborhoods” in the United States. I have never lived in any of these neighborhoods, so I don’t know how the color-to-name matches were chosen. But there is a good mix of colors, not a pink or red in the bunch.

This collection contained:

  • East Austin (Austin, TX) — softened medium coral creme
  • Pearl District (Portland, OR) — metallic bronzed-gold shimmer
  • Silver Lake (Los Angeles, CA) — cool medium-light grey creme
  • Williamsburg (Brooklyn, NY) — dark navy blue microshimmer
  • Wicker Park (Chicago, IL) — fuchsia-lavender creme
  • The Uptown (Oakland, CA) — semisheer purple jelly with multicolored flakies
