When the screenshots of this collection flooded Instagram, my first thoughts were “I do not need more lipsticks” and “...but there’s a lavender one!” I told myself that I’d consider the lavender. I can wear purple and purple-leaning blush and lip shades, and I look good in them. When the collection was released and I got slightly better images of the various colors, I decided against the lavender. There was one medium-range fuchsia-purple that was a bit too saturated for my preferences, and the lavender, which ended up being too light. (Apparently, I am the universe’s cat toy.)
The lipsticks are mostly creme or satin - no matte or frost or shimmer in this first collection. The tubes are nice, they click closed and won't easily come open in your purse or pocket. The stars embossed on the outside of the tube are mirrored on the lipstick itself. The formula goes on pretty smoothly, and while they don't stain - at least, not the ones I got - they don't fade noticeably faster than any other similarly-priced lipstick. I don't detect any fragrance, either floral or chemical.
I bought one color shortly after the first re-stock, another color about two weeks later, and two more colors after the "Butterfly" shades were added to the lineup. For now, that's all I think I'll get - the formula is good but not amazing, the price is decent, I haven't had any horrid experiences with the lip sticks...I just have enough bullet lip sticks. (Though if they add sheers and one is a medium red similar to Peacocky, I'll be all over that one.)
ColourPop tends to keep adding to their collections and rotating colors out pretty frequently, so - just like with the Lippie Stix and Gel Liners - I'm not even going to TRY to keep up with the roster. I'll just list what's in the collection now (June 2017) and be done.
