When I initially applied this, it did feel just a little bit sticky. Oh good, I thought, this will indeed help my balms and stains and sticks stay on my lips longer! I tested it by applying it to the right half of my mouth, and then applying lip colors to my whole mouth - first to the left side, then to the right. When I tested it with elf’s Sheer Slick Lip Stick in Dragon Fruit, I didn’t notice a huge difference in color longevity. When I tried it with a regular lip stick (ColourPop’s Happy Thoughts), I noticed…well, “even fading” is the best way to put it. The color at the edges of my lips stayed evenly strong on both sides, while the color towards the center faded much more slowly. It did fade off a bit slower on the side where I had applied the lip primer, and didn’t develop such an obvious disparity between the edges and the middle before I needed to reapply.
I don’t know that I’d call this a dupe or even a decent substitute for Bite Beauty’s Line and Define, which is my personal favorite lip primer; but if you’re utterly broke and you need your lip color to stay just a little while more, it’s decent for emergencies.
