I saw this on Milani’s website, and decided to give it a try. I knew that the Ludicrous Lights highlighters needed to be applied with a thinner brush, and I’d seen a few people using fan brushes to apply a very delicate line, so I bought one. The brush is soft, dense, and…not totally thin. It’s like a blush brush was made a little thinner and then put into a 180 degree arc. The brush is thicker in the middle and tapered toward the ends, but it’s never as thin as, for example, elf’s Studio Fan Brush. It does apply highlighter well, and it’s nice to have wider, denser fan brush for face color cosmetics. The ferrule is gold-colored, the handle is slightly tapered and feels very comfortable to hold.
My brush has withstood two washes so far, and no problems - no fallout, no colorchanging, no change to the shape of the brush head. USD$15.99 for a single face brush isn’t the lowest price out there, but it’s not MAC brush pricing either. It’s about mid-range, as far as price goes. This is the only makeup brush from Milani that I currently own, but based on this one, I would recommend checking their product line for standalone face brushes.
I’ve noticed more brushes like this in the past two years - I don’t know when they started becoming more popular, but I do know that I only really noticed these coming out here and there in early 2019.
