This was one of the Morphe palettes that I initially wanted to get. I liked the brighter and clearer colors, and the number of different rose and teal shades I saw. This was part of Morphe’s collaboration with Iluvsarahii, and I’m familiar with this person’s name from an early ColourPop collab. I held off buying this palette, and I’m glad I did, because I got it for just over 60% off.
The packaging was cardboard instead of a black-plastic clamshell. Like the other Morphe palettes, there is no mirror. There is a thin plastic sheet, but the shade names are printed directly below the pans (in white text on the dark background, so there’s sufficient color contrast that the text is easily legible! Thank the gods of rods and cones.) I like this arrangement a bit more - it’s less easy to “lose” the names. About a third of these colors are matte, the others have a shimmer finish.
The formula of these seems...inferior to Hot Spot, which I swatched right before I did this one. The palettes are even a bit similar, being divided between reds/pinks and blues, with a column of neutrals. The mattes in this palette took a bit more work to build up, and some were patchy. A few of the colors in this palette are very lovely, and unique among the Morphe palettes that I picked up. I like having so many aquas, blues, roses, and fuchsias in one palette, even if I wish more of them had been shimmer finishes so that they behaved a bit better.
This kit contained 35 colors, arranged in five rows of 7 colors each:
