Sephora’s Contour Eye Pencil in Romantic Comedy

This was one of the first shades in the Contour Eye Pencil line that caught my attention! I was headed to the counter with this, Banana Split, Black Lace, and a few other colors when the salesperson helpfully pointed out the Ten Shades of Samba kit…which I eagerly scooped up.

Romantic Comedy is a bright pink, not quite neon but nearly so. I think it's a good hot pink for people who want the pop of color, but don't want the intensity of actual full-on neon shades. (People like me, in other words.)

A montage of three images: top left, close-up of the eyeliner tube or pencil barrel; top right, the eyeliner applied over bare skin, to better show the shade and properties; and below, the eyeliner applied on the eyelid at the lash line.

The color has a shimmer, but not enough for fallout. I wish the color applied just a little more evenly…but it goes on fairly smooth. Great for blue or brown eyes. Not so sure it would work with green, or hazel-with-lots-of-green, but with the right combination of other colors around the eye, and the right depth of gold in the iris, it could look very striking.
