Sleek Makeup’s Del Mar 2 i-Divine Palette

After my 2014 BBAC Sleek-palette series where I used almost all of my Sleek i-Divine palettes - many for the first time - I was really looking forward to Sleek’s Del Mar II palette. In retrospect, I think I would have had more fun with the Volume I palette - the colors are a bit more to my preference. These shades aren’t bad, though there are a few whose quality is a little on the lower side. But…yeah. Definitely wish I had picked up the Del Mar Volume I.

Photos that show how the product actually performs...! See how I create my swatches

The leftmost four eyeshadows, in the palette: Loco, San Antonia, Ushuala, Pearl The middle four eyeshadows, in the palette: Ibiza Rocks, Zoola, Bora Bora, Puro The rightmost four eyeshadows, in the palette: Pura Vida, Spotlight, Siesta, Ocean Beach Four eyeshadows, swatched dry over primer: Loco, San Antonia, Ushuala, Pearl Four eyeshadows, swatched dry over primer: Ibiza Rocks, Zoola, Bora Bora, Puro Four eyeshadows, swatched dry over primer: Pura Vida, Spotlight, Siesta, Ocean Beach

The colors are low to medium saturation levels, a mix of finishes (mostly satins and pearls), and colors all across the spectrum. The pigmentation is about average for Sleek palettes: nothing amazing, but not as poor an experience for me as, say, the Paraguaya palette. I know that for many folks this will be a go-to palette to grab, but the overall shade range isn't grabbing me. I think I would have difficulty making looks out of these colors, that I'd be genuinely excited to wear. (That's a comment on my color preferences, not an observation of the quality of the shadows.)

This palette contains:

Upper Row

  • Loco — soft beige pearl
  • San Antonio — semisheer peach sparkle
  • Ibiza Rocks — primary-yellow satin
  • Zoola — near-metallic peach-beige shimmer
  • Pura Vida — softened teal-green satin
  • Spotlight — grey sparkle

Lower Row

  • Pearl — bright white pearl
  • Ushuaia — pale orange-tan satin
  • Puro — pale pink pearl
  • Bora Bora — aqua-green satin
  • Ocean Beach — teal-turquoise satin
  • Siesta — medium brown satin
