Sally Hansen’s Pucker Up (299)

I habitually steer away from medium-tone reds, because I think “they’re everywhere.” Well…they may be everywhere, but formulas differ. This formula is smooth, levels very well, has great opacity and color payoff, and is nicely durable. The polish wears very well, and I got four days’ wear before I started seeing microchips on the very tips of my nails.

Maybelline’s FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Topaz

Maybelline’s FaceStudio Master Chrome Metallic Highlighter in Molten Topaz

This glows rich amber-gold on deeper skintones, and looks amazing. It is more of a metallic goldish brown on my fairer skin. (I was hoping for the glowy experience with an amber tone. Thus must be the constant experience when non-pale people go makeup shopping.) I've used it as an accent overlay on my lids. I can make the gold tones a lot more visible by applying this over a dark cream shadow. On my cheeks it looks more like...

This polish formula is the standard for Xtreme Wear cremes: it applies well, self-levels fairly nicely, and is fully opaque in two coats. I like this color! It’s springy without being a softer pastel, it’s a richer color but not a full-on bold primary. I have a few similar-ish shades, but even though they’re very similar color intensity, they are more warm / pink-leaning.

I have two highlighter palettes from Sleek, this one and Midas Touch. This one’s a bit more neutral-warm than the cooler Midas Touch color story, but I love having this available to me. The cream color is a barely-pinkish sheer light brown satin, and the powder colors are all marbled with white and have a pearl finish. I often find myself using these palettes as eyeshadow palettes, along with a colored eye liner.

A very interesting mesh of colors! It looks like a heathered-evergreen base with a very strong lilac interference shift…or is it a grey-green-purple with purple and blue shimmer? However you decide such things, the color is definitely on the cooler end of the spectrum. When applied dry, the colorshift is more visible as the light angle changes and either reflects off of or slides under the pearl finish. When applied wet, the green base is more visible, with a...

There are people who absolutely do not like felt-tip liners. I am not one of those people This color isn’t one that looks amazing as an eyeliner on me, but I’m strongly drawn to it anyway.

A nice color with a subtle microshimmer and a pretty good formula that levels well and isn’t watery.

I like this polish color! It’s a shade that has been released by nearly a dozen vendors in the past two years, but wasn’t really something that I saw very often before then. The formula is a little bit thick, and it tends to slub about instead of self-leveling.
