BareMinerals’ Velvet Escape kit

When BE debuted its “velvet” and “satin” eyecolors, I was more impressed with the satins. I still kind of am…but BE appears to have tweaked the formula a bit more, to develop better-pigmented matte eyeshadows. This is good.

Now if only there was a wider range of colors in this kit…

BareMinerals’ Velvet Escape kit

The shades in this kit are attractive enough in the pot. But when applied, they all look much more similar. The darker shades, in particular: cool grey, neutral grey, purplish grey. Not something that one can easily create a look from. They are attractive enough, and it’s good to see some solid-performing matte shades, but this was mostly “neutrals and neutrals and more neutrals” once they were applied. I picked this kit up when it was discounted nearly 40% from its original price.

This kit contained:

  • Velvet Charcoal
  • Velvet Fog
  • Velvet Sand
  • Velvet Sea
  • Velvet Shell
  • Velvet Wildflower
