I originally thought I wouldn’t buy any of these Colour Books. Then I thought - just the one, the green and blue one. Then I saw swatches of the red/orange and pink/purple, and thought - okay, I still don’t trust the pink/purple, but I’ll get the red/orange and brown/neutral books. Oh, there’s an offer on! Okay I’ll get the pink/purple one too (and it was mostly lighter, less-pigmented shades, so I’m glad I got it for free.) The brown color book has a good range of browns - mostly warmer and neutral in the lighter and middle ranges, neutral and cooler in the deeper end. As with the other CBs, each shadow in the book has a shimmer-finish version and a matte-finish versions. Since these are pressed pigments, neither side works exactly like regular pressed eyeshadows; but in my experience, the shimmers are a bit less easy to work with and uniformly get full coverage. They seem to want to act like they are cream-to-powder formulas, and don’t always want to spread out nicely.
