I think NYX learned something about marketing with this collection: put stuff in larger containers, and people will be happier. The Pearl Mania loose shadows come in tiny vials that are about half the size of the Chrome jars, but they contain almost the same amount of product. And, yes, I did feel like I’d been taken when I opened my first order of the Pearl Manias, because the dang vials were SO SMALL!! (That feeling lasted only as long as it took to repot the first one. It filled the 10-gram jar 4/5ths of the way to the top.) The Chrome shadows have many of the same colors that are in the Pearl line, with the same names - plus several more colors - so if you really want shade X but want a brighter finish or a little more staying power, you know exactly which shade to get from this collection.
EDIT: This collection was discontinued some time in the first half of 2012. It took quite a bit longer to entirely disappear from etailers, but was pulled from Ulta and other places that stocked NYX Cosmetics fairly quickly.
While you could conceivably call the Pearl Mania shades "mineral makeup", because they've only got three ingredients...the Chrome shadows are what Aromaleigh called a "hybrid cosmetic". They have more oxides for brighter colors, but also include lake dyes (ingredients are listed as "Mica, Octyldodecanol, Lauroryl Lysine, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexyl Glycerin, Tin Oxide (CI77861), Titanium Dioxide (CI77891), Black Iron Oxide (CI77499), Carbon Black (CI77266), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI77510), Ultramarines (CI77007), FD & C Blue No.1 Al Lake (CI42090), Red Iron Oxide (CI77491), Yellow Iron Oxide (CI77492), Black Iron Oxide (CI77499), Carmine (CI75470), FD & C Yellow No. 5 Lake (CI19140:1)" - and will vary depending on shade, particularly for the various colorants.) The adhesion is a little bit better than the Pearl Mania powders, but you still need to wear these over a base if you want them to stay in place all day. These do have a more reflective finish than the Pearl Mania colors, but are not as metallic as Aromaleigh v1's Elemental or Opulent Lusters.
