Silk Naturals’ Spring 2012 eyeshadows

Nine “demi-matte” finish colors, all fairly soft pastel shades. In my experience, the appearance of the finishes match up more with shimmer or satin, depending on the lighting. These are good “basic” shades that are fairly useful to me. Caveat, though, some of these are very very soft - I don’t know how well they’d work on the deepest skintones, unless they were applied over a dark primer or shadow base and used for layering effects.

Whimsy is almost an interference color, like the various Hilite Micas from TKB Trading. It has two colors blended, the base looks like it might be blue-ish, but the actual color itself is an interesting muted green iridescent flash.

This collection contained:

  • Calm — pastel green-blue matte
  • Driftwood — medium-light taupe-brown matte
  • Flourish — pale cool brown shimmer
  • Giggle — light peach-pink shimmer
  • Kind — faded lilac-taupe sheen
  • Linen — cream-beige shimmer
  • Serene — light lilac shimmer
  • Sprout — soft gold satin
  • Whimsy — pale grey-green shimmer
