Urban Decay’s Black Market 24-7 Glide On Pencil kit

I love Urban Decay’s 24-7 pencils. I usually love their pencil sets, whether fullsize or travel size. But…this one kind of shocked me. I didn’t love it. In fact, I’ll go so far as to say that I would not re-buy it.

Well, this is a first.

Urban Decay’s Black Market 24-7 Glide On Pencil kit

There are six colors, five of which are exclusive to this kit. The colors are blackened or darker shades. The problem showed up when it was time to swatch the pencils. I don't know what happened, but the pencils didn't have a lot of color payoff, and layering didn't seem to do any good. That definitely has not been my experience with Urban Decay's liner pencils.

The kit was a good idea, decent palette of colors, and a fairly good price. But the individual products contained therein don't seem to perform too well. Last year's Smoked palette was definitely better - both in terms of the overall shade range, and in how the individual colors performed.

This kit contained:

  • Apathy — blackened deep green shimmer(exclusive to this kit)
  • Black Market — soft black creme(exclusive to this kit)
  • Desperation — purple-taupe matte
  • Ink — dark navy blue pearl(exclusive to this kit)
  • Riot — dark purple with fuchsia-pink sparkle(exclusive to this kit)
  • West — medium-deep gold-brown shimmer (exclusive to this kit)
