This kit wasn’t as attractive a value as the Ocho Loco kit, released at the same time for the 2012 holiday season; but with four pencil colors that are not part of Urban Decay’s regular line (two limited-edition repromotes and two new to this kit), this was still an excellent buy. Considering these pencils are 0.03 ounces each - just 25% smaller than the full-size pencils - but they cost $38 as a set instead of a collective $114…this is still a real bargain!
This kit was meant to complement the Smoked eyeshadow palette. But, of course, it’s worth it to get this set all on its own. The only reason that I don’t own more Urban Decay liners is because Sephora’s Flashy Waterproof Eyeliners perform just as well for me, but cost quite a bit less. Urban Decay has several shades that Sephora just doesn’t, and by and large, those are the UD liners that I own. The colors in this collection are deeper, richer, but not necessarily “blackened”.
This kit contained:
Demolition and Zero are part of the regular 24-7 liner pencil collection. Smog is part of the regular line, in both eyeshadow and liquid liner format; and Uzi used to be one of Urban Decay's pressed eyeshadows. Mainline and Empire, a rich teal and a vibrant purple, are exclusive to this set.
