Sally Hansen’s Purple Alloy colorfoil

Sally Hansen’s Purple Alloy colorfoil

Smooth color application and good, even coverage. I'm looking forward to using this both for regular manicures but also in stamping. It'll do a much better job than China Glaze's Harmony, for both use-cases. I also like that this is a cooler purple, more of a violet-purple than a wine-purple.

BareMinerals’ Flourish blush

BareMinerals’ Flourish blush

A very soft color - EXTREMELY soft and sheer. I personally get better use out of this as a blending-eyeshadow, than as a blush. There's just not much in the way of color or pigmentation. This is kind of true of most of BareMinerals' blushes…but Sorbet is a peachy...

Revlon’s Colorburst Lacquer Balm in Provocateur (135)

The deeper colors in the Lacquer Balm collection do actually show up, and the color itself stays a bit longer, even when the “lacquer” finish fades away fairly quickly. Provocateur is one of the longer-lasting shades. It doesn't stain, as much as it's pigmented enough that it takes longer to...

BareMinerals’ Midnight Diamond

BareMinerals’ Midnight Diamond

Solid black, can look a bit like a very dark charcoal in some lighting, but definitely has full even coverage and no fallout. The sparkle particles are small enough, and sparse enough, that they are highlights only. Not glitz or glam, and definitely not enough to yield sparkly fallout.

Femme Fatale Cosmetics’ Spirit Bond

Femme Fatale Cosmetics’ Spirit Bond

When I first got this color from Femme Fatale, I noticed the gold shimmer when I was repotting it…then I put it in the backlog and forgot about it. Then Femme Fatale reposted someone using this color as a liner, and it was so utterly amazing…that I got...

A brighter pastel blue with decent coverage. The shadow is a little thinner than I'd love, but one applied layer does stay in place and doesn't fade or fall away. This could work as a softer diffused eye liner shade, or a blending shadow.

Almost like a slightly faded deep spruce green. The color payoff is solid, and the shade definitely isn't pastel. It just looks…dusty? (Which, for a Halloween-collection color, is somewhat appropriate.) It coordinates nicely with Ragdoll and Finklestein, from the first iteration of the This Is Halloween collection.

Zoya’s Ling

Zoya’s Ling

This is a brighter blue than 2011's Breezi, and is a little bit less teal-ish. It's a “candy-blue” color, very summer-primary. I got good coverage with this, and it is a little hardier than the average Zoya color.

Color Club’s Lavendarling

A nicer formula than some of the other polishes in the Blossoming collection…though it is a tad streaky. Similar to Zoya's Hudson, in that it's another “Easter-candy” purple shade; but Lavendarling is a bit deeper color, and a creme finish rather than microglass fleck.

Sally Hansen’s Beach Redy (832)

Sally Hansen’s Beach Redy (832)

A nice formula, good application…and thick enough to use for stamping or freehand nail art, which is the only way I'll use this shade. (And it's -=only=- because of the shade.) I had some misgivings, but thought - well, maybe it will look more red. Nope. Not...
