Revlon’s Colorburst Matte Balm collection

Revlon’s Colorburst Matte Balm collection

I was thrilled when Revlon introduced these “expansions” to the original Balmstain lineup! Some new finishes, a few new colors…it’s all good, right? Sadly…no. These have the same ease of application that the original Balmstains have, but…they’re balms, not balmstains. The color doesn’t last...

This collection showed up in a few chains in April…but most of us began seeing the colors in July. (I was in that latter group, and no, I wasn’t thrilled about it.) Brighter shades, good wear time, one semisheer “effects”-like polish, and a mix of finishes. I...

A really great lighter-weight late summer/early autumn shade. It's either a medium tangerine or pumpkin orange, with good color payoff (especially for unblended mica) and a softened shimmer. It's a good “daily” light-makeup look orange, for neutral or warmer skintones, or for folks with slightly cool, mostly neutral coloring.

Just barely edges into the “berry” territory. It's closest to a muted raspberry or a very-ripe strawberry red. The color doesn't lose much depth or intensity from pot to application, either, which is nice. (Some unblended micas will apply more softly, or even semisheer.) According to <a href=“http:/...
