Concrete Minerals’ Thrash

Concrete Minerals’ Thrash

Such a gorgeous shade of emerald! And no chalkiness, it doesn't stain nor start fading. When I use this as a liner with other, darker greens on my lid, I like how it makes my eyecolor shift.

Zoya’s Brooklyn

Zoya’s Brooklyn

The successor to last season's pale yellow glass fleck, Piaf (which was discontinued after just under a year in rotation.) All of the polishes in the Awaken collection have good, even coverage. The bonus is that the pastel shades are just a trifle richer than the ultra-diaphonous shades from the...

Color Club’s Sweetpea

Color Club’s Sweetpea

This polish attracted me because it was a deeper, cooler pink that would nicely transition from winter into spring and through summer. I was glad to find that the formula was thicker than Hydrangea Kiss or Refresh-Mint, two of the other polishes in this collection. There was a bit of...

Sally Hansen’s Leis-y Days (836)

I was really looking forward to this collection - and this polish was one of the reasons. I love the shade! Don't know if I love Sally Hansen's version of a micro-fleck finish, at least not in Leis-y Days; it's a little on the sparse side. That doesn't seem to...

Sleek Makeup’s Glory i-Divine Palette

Sleek Makeup’s Glory i-Divine Palette

Posted on Tuesday, at

This was another gift from Sirvinya, who is pretty much my supplier of All Things Sleek - I asked her to pick me up a palette, both because it was going to have a very short run and because the palette could not be shipped to the US or Canada....

Color Club’s Catwalk Queen collection

Color Club’s Catwalk Queen collection

Six colors, a supposedly complementary palette to the Femme Fatale collection. Three of the polishes in this group were sheer “effects” polishes. There was another really good holographic polish in here, though: Fashion Addict. And Catwalk Queen is a great saturated purple. I am not a huge fan of the â€...

TKB Trading’s Mermaid’s Gold

TKB Trading’s Mermaid’s Gold

Posted on Monday, at

Similar to BFTE's blink-and-you'll-miss-it shade Last to Know, but a little softer base color. I suspect that this is the main ingredient in BFTE's Mermaid, which is marked as an unblended mica. This is a medium-soft gold-yellow with decent coverage, though it can be a bit on the lighter side....

TKB Trading’s Blush Beige

TKB Trading’s Blush Beige

Neutral peach, not enough color depth to be apricot. Does make a good near-neutral color, and I'm able to wear it even with my cooler coloring (possibly because it complements my blue eyes well?) This color has good payoff if you use a base and sealant, but it is a...

TKB Trading’s Hot Mama

TKB Trading’s Hot Mama

Posted on Monday, at

The original “Hot Mama” mica sold by TKB Trading - at one point, they ran out and couldn't get more in for the longest time, so they came up with Hot Step Mama. This, though…this was the original. It's a warm vibrant red that can shift to a slightly...
