I don't know that I'd as eagerly reach for a roughened-metallic “foiled finish” polish in a color other than silver or gold. And no, I have no idea why that is. But I have a few of these roughened-silver polishes, and I love all of them. (I must, because I...

I remember the old Sally Hansen Crystal Chromes: metallic colors in shades very similar to this, but a slightly smaller shade range…and a bit brushstrokey, AND rather fragile. Oh, yes, and any topcoat really muted the metallic effects. But they were still gorgeous, and I was very sad the...

I never got into the massive hype that Urban Decay’s Naked palettes inspired. Sure, a nice palette of neutrals, but… a) they were pressed; b) they were colors I could find elsewhere (and probably already had similar shades for most if not all of the colors) and c) the...

A basic shade, a little bit on the lighter side, in terms of color payoff. I don't like how this performs as a contouring shade, but used as a softer shadow-accent it works well. The gold shimmer particles are sparse, so you'll see highlights rather than a solid, hard-shimmer layer....

This bright pearl has an excellent color payoff. It's solidly opaque without any need to layer or even apply particularly heavy. I can use this as a softer highlighter by using a more diffuse-bristled brush, but it isn't restricted to that the way some other white-gold loose-powder eyeshadows are.

Another shade that, as soon as I saw the promo pics, I knew I wanted to try. I like the color, which can shift between a warm soft tan and a slightly muted peach. I also like the highlights, which are present enough to show up very nicely when the...

This attracted me as soon as I saw the preview pictures! It's a slightly-cool pink with a medium scattering of gold shimmer with good blendability and staying power. It's just the right shade of deeper rose-pink for me to wear without looking…a bit odd. (Okay, like I'm in the...

A cooler, every-so-slightly darker blue with a more pronounced pink shimmer. It's very similar to Crystal Guardian, but more blue-toned (for folks who prefer/look better in something more turquoise than aqua.) This behaves similarly to Crystal Guardian, in that it's a duotone; that it's fully opaque but can be...

It's a very soft shade, but it's got good coverage. It's totally opaque. It can be worn as a sheer wash easily enough, by applying it more lightly and with a fiber-optic brush. The pink and gold shimmer over the pale aqua produces some interesting effects if this is either...

This was one of the first colors I reached for when I decided to buy some of these pencils and try the line out. (The Sephora cashier reminded me about the Ten Shades of Samba collection, which contained this, another I was going to get, and several others besides.) I...
