Wet and Wild Nail Polish: everything’s coming up roses (for Halloween)

Wet and Wild Nail Polish: everything’s coming up roses (for Halloween)

Just found these at my local drugstore while out to get some baking soda. I went wandering down the Halloween aisle, intent on finding some of those Smarties - because they're candy, but they're not all that great. (The logic here is that I figured they'd be quite safe in the house until Halloween, and possibly even after, since I'd only really eat these if I were desperate.) Right off the bat, you should know: I have a deep and abiding love for the sheer buxoms (and for a few of the full-color ones). This is saying something, since before I encountered the buxom lip polishes I rarely wore any lip color. This is the only yellow buxom I've seen - leaving the buxom lip tint out of it for a minute. This color is a rich, bright, sparkling red: the red of natural poinsettas and of brighter holly berries. It's a sheer color, which means that if you want the red coloration, you're going to have to apply a whole lot to get the color payoff you want…or just apply a pink or soft mauve, and apply this red over the top for a hint of tint.

For those who already own Dominique buxom, this one won't be much of a surprise - and you'll have a good idea how to use it to best effect: it's a clear tint, so just layer it right over any lip color to add gloss and sparkles. The difference from Dominique is that where Dominique's sparkles are mostly silver iridescent, Hope's are a cooler blue-silver iridescent. This is a very small difference - but where Dominique will add sparkles, Hope...
