I'm participating in an Alphabet Nail Challenge that I found over at Confessions of a Secret Shopper. She's running her contest from September 1 to 26 - start between those dates, and you can add your link to the list of people taking the challenge. All you have to do is post 26 manicures, one a day, each day using a polish that begins with a different letter of the alphabet. I'm using this as an opportunity to go through my backlog of polishes (and photos still on my hard drive!!) to show off some of my newer goodies. Not every polish that I'm using is one that I haven't used before, but most are ones that I haven't taken manicure photos for. (In fact, I'm only missing two of the letters: x, and o. How cute…)
My first polish is Artsy, from Speciallità‘s Mari Moon collection. I got mine from Llarowe (I wanted to get some of the colors that seemed to be perennially out of stock, so I just finally broke down and bought both 4-bottle kits from this collection.) Artsy is a duochrome, but the effects are best seen when viewed sidelong, or viewed when the nails are in motion. You don't see tons of duochrome right on the nail…though if my nails were longer, I might be able to get a somewhat decent photo. The color shifts between royal blue and purple, edging towards maroon on the sides.
