Color Club’s Le Petit Mint-seur

Color Club’s Le Petit Mint-seur

An attractive enough color…but the formula was a bit thick. It had a tendency to cling a bit too much, and wouldn't spread evenly once it was on the nail. Two coats was a bit on the thicker side, and I still didn't get completely even or completely opaque...

A deep rich brown creme…not too many of these, really, so it's nice to see another one! Too bad it was a limited-edition polish. I didn't get full opacity in one coat, but I almost did. I can easily see layering this over black if I wanted a blackened...

Zoya’s Tickled collection

Thank goodness for sales. That’s all I have to say. When this collection first debuted, I was interested in some of the shades, but not quite so thrilled with the price. It didn’t come available until AFTER the Earth Day 2014 sale, either, so either I’d have to...

Urban Decay has four “Naked” palettes, including the “Naked Basics”: palettes of true neutrals, gold-neutrals, cool neutrals, and rose neutrals. Silk Naturals has three corresponding palettes (no equivalent to Naked Basics.) Meow Cosmetics covered neutral, rose, gold, and cool neutrals in one palette…and did a damn good job, too....

The first Meow blush collection, their original mineral-blush formula. There’s a range of shade, intensity, and color depth; but most of these blushes are more sheer than heavily pigmented.

A softer, mildly metallic bronze-brown. The dry application is kind of faint - not semisheer, just…faint. Foiling emphasises the color and makes the finish more metallic than satin. Good for blending darker shades into near-whites, or for adding some shadowing when I don't want too much color weight or...

I wasn't initially sure if this was a yellowed shade of cream, or a yellowed shade of beige. It could go either way…but it's a good basic color. It's hard for me to tell, because this shade is relatively light and relatively close to my coloring, so I don't...

Most orange eyeshadows I've run across have been so bright that they're almost perpetually sunny, or so deep/rusty that they're almost a warm variant of brown. When an orange comes along that's in the middle of that range and it actually has good color payoff, I'm absolutely thrilled. This...

I think that I have a few similar-ish shades in my collection, but…they're not quite as deep. This is a mauver, deeper version of Define Beauty (which is one of my all-time / going to cry copiously when I run out shadows.) The coverage is opaque and even, the finish...

Meow Cosmetics’ Jaybird

Meow Cosmetics’ Jaybird

One of the few cool colors from Meow's Stripped collection, this is a softened slate blue with a powdery satin finish. I have colors that are similar to this in the pot, but once applied, they lose a bit of their depth. This is close enough to neutral that all...
