Beauty from the Earth’s Vamp

Beauty from the Earth’s Vamp

A good non-metallic maroon shimmer with nice color payoff. It's very similar to Aromaleigh's Antares, from their now-discontinued Starry Night collection. It's a brighter red, clear and rich but not necessarily vampy. I've been able to use this and Antares as liner shades as well as all-over and accent colors.

Beauty from the Earth’s Orangery

Beauty from the Earth’s Orangery

A borderline autumnal shade with a matte finish and good color payoff. The pigmentation levels possibly could be a little higher, but this color doesn't leave any bald spots or need to be layered to build up the color. I also like that this is a strong orange without being...

The color is a little bit muted, but it isn't necessarily faded. It's also a matte (or a near-matte) with pretty good coverage - something that most cosmetics companies, indie and mainstream both, tend NOT to do very often. This red is also very slightly warm, but not overtly orange.

China Glaze’s Smoke and Ashes

China Glaze’s Smoke and Ashes

I'm not quite sure how often I'll use this polish. It's matte, but there's a visual-texture so I don't know how well it will work as a background for nail art. It's an interesting contrast to the glittery and shimmery polishes in the Colors from the Capitol collection, and it...

China Glaze’s Stone Cold

Originally named “Joined at the Seam,” this color is near-kin to colors like Zoya's Indigo (a dark navy with microglitter) or OPI's My Private Jet (the later version, which was dark charcoal-grey with scattered holographic microglitter.) This color has the high-shine finish that Indigo doesn't quite have; and the microglitter...

Beauty from the Earth’s Sunset Sky kit

These kits save you a little bit of money - $1.50 buying the colors as a kit, versus buying them alone - and they’re nicely packaged. These colors are matte or near-matte, with a good color payoff. The colors are not greyed, but are just slightly deepened and softened. This...

Beauty from the Earth’s Meteor Shower

Beauty from the Earth’s Meteor Shower

The manufacturer's site lists this as a black with multicolored glitter; but to me it looks like a dark navy. The sparkle is definitely there, though! The sparkle seems to be made up of different sizes. Maybe the density of the sparkle lightened the black enough that it fooled me...

Meow Cosmetics’ Typhoon

Meow Cosmetics’ Typhoon

There's a very faint shimmer to this color…which isn't actually unusual for Meow's eyeliners. Quite a few of their Feliners are shimmer-finish. Typhoon is an incredibly vivid blue that I use more as an accent shade than as an eyeliner. I know that plenty of other people will use...
