Originally I was overlooking many of the softer pinks in the Eye Lusters collection, intending only to buy Kiki and Diamanda. Then I received a sample of this color and found out that it was a match for a limited-edition shade (from another company) that I’d fallen in love with.

Aromaleigh v1’s Edie

Aromaleigh v1’s Edie
  • Vendor: Aromaleigh v1
  • Availability: available as part of their Eye Lusters collection
  • Color Range: bright pink pearl
  • Staying Power: 3 out of 4 stars
  • Cost/Amount: USD$6.75 for 1.2 grams
  • Would you purchase again: yes
  • Similar shades: exact match: TKB Trading's Pink Pearl

I originally did not have a photo for Edie in its pot. I got Edie as a sample from Aromaleigh (and a free sample at that - it came with one of my orders). I thought it looked a bit similar to TKB Trading’s Pink Pearl, so I decided to check…and, yes, an exact match. The primary differences are that TKB’s is a straight mica; and Pink Pearl is (oddly enough) marked as not eye-safe - at least, in the US.

The absolute perfect neutral shade for me. The vendor classed it as a brown; but to my eyes it’s right on the border between brown, orange, and pink. It’s almost like a matte version of Angelique. I made sure to get several spares of this color as Aromaleigh was closing its doors.

BareMinerals’ Warm/Cool Eye Quickies kit

BareMinerals’ Warm/Cool Eye Quickies kit
  • Manufacturer: bareMinerals/Bare Escentuals
  • Availability: in BE boutiques and through their webstore
  • Contains: two iridescent eye colors
  • Cost/Amount: USD$22
  • Would you purchase again: no

This kit contains two interference colors - what Bare Escentuals calls “eye quickies”. They aren’t much color by themselves, but layered on top of colors or mixed into colors, they can either change a look or make an unwearable color workable. I bought this kit when I hadn’t yet found all the other places that had these colors available. Now I wouldn’t buy this kit from BE only because I can get better prices / quantities elsewhere.

Pure Luxe’s Opal Aura

Pure Luxe’s Opal Aura
  • Manufacturer: Pure Luxe
  • Availability: from their webstore under Specialty Eyecolors - part of the Aura Collection
  • Color Range: blue-violet iridescent pearl
  • Staying Power: 4 out of 4
  • Cost/Amount: $9.50 for a 10-gram jar with sifter
  • Would you purchase again: yes
  • Similar shades: Aromaleigh v1's Blue Haze; Bare Escentuals' Neptune

All of Pure Luxe’s Aura colors are available from TKB Trading at half the cost for approximately five times as much product. However, I cannot figure out which is the “opal aura” equivalent. Since Opal is a reddish purple, maybe it’s a combination of red and a little blue. Or possibly even red and violet? I have no idea. But if anyone can find the exact TKB equivalent, I’d love to know.
