The SheSpace’s Go Glam or Go Home collection

The SheSpace’s Go Glam or Go Home collection
  • Manufacturer: The She Space / About Face Cosmetics
  • Availability: through TSS' online storefront - part of their permanent line
  • Contains: 45 shimmering, sparkling pigments
  • Cost/Amount: USD$.50 for a sample baggie (5-7 uses) or $4 for a 3-gram jar
  • Would you purchase again: Yes

These colors are part of Heather’s “regular” line - they’ll only be unavailable if she’s between batches at the moment. The colors are mostly richer and more vibrant than the Sprinkles of Twinkles collection, and have more shimmer and sparkle as opposed to pearl or light shimmer-finishes. I own just over half of these colors, and there aren’t too many others I’ve considered getting - while I like glitz and shimmer, and LOVE vibrant colors, too much sparkle draws more attention to my makeup than to me (that’s most definitely my personal opinion, YMMV.)

The SheSpace’s Sprinkles of Twinkles collection

The SheSpace’s Sprinkles of Twinkles collection
  • Manufacturer: The She Space / About Face Cosmetics
  • Availability: through TSS' online storefront - part of their permanent line
  • Contains: over 100 pearlized and shimmering pigments
  • Cost/Amount: USD$.50 for a sample baggie (5-7 uses) or $4 for a 3-gram jar
  • Would you purchase again: Yes
These colors are part of Heather's "regular" line - they'll only be unavailable if she's between batches at the moment. These colors' finish varies from pearl to frost to sheen to light shimmer - good midrange shimmer, no matte colors, no duochromes, but you don't necessarily have to wear these colors with sealant to not get "fallout" on your cheeks. The shiny finishes can be minimized by buffing, or by applying a light layer of Cashmere Kisses over the shadows. I like these colors because there are some richer hues than among the Velvets, there are a wide variety of bases, and they look equally good for evening, daytime wear, fantasy looks, or softer combinations. I own just under half of these colors - the other half either wouldn't work with my coloring, didn't appeal to me, or looked too close to something that was already in my collection.

The SheSpace’s Diamond Dust collection

The SheSpace’s Diamond Dust collection
  • Manufacturer: The She Space / About Face Cosmetics
  • Availability: through TSS' online storefront - part of their permanent line
  • Contains: 6 black-based sparkling pigments
  • Cost/Amount: USD$4 for a 3-gram jar
  • Would you purchase again: Yes

This collection’s colors are a bit more limited than most - but they make excellent liners. When you use them as contour shades, the sparkle is all buffed away, so that doesn’t work quite as well unless you also use a sealant. There have been requests for Heather to create diamond-dust colors with a white or cream base; but as of May 2009, this has not come to fruition.

The SheSpace’s Velvets

The SheSpace’s Velvets
  • Manufacturer: The She Space / About Face Cosmetics
  • Availability: through TSS' online storefront - part of their permanent line
  • Contains: over 100 matte pigment powders
  • Cost/Amount: USD$4 for a 3-gram jar; $4.50 per jar if you add one additive from the custom pigment bar
  • Would you purchase again: yes

While most of The SheSpace’s colors include multicolored layers of sparkle and flash, Heather does provide a large array of matte colors for those days when sparkle isn’t what you want or need…or looks that need some color without more twinkle. The colors are medium to light-intensity, for the most part, though there are a few darker shades. All of the velvets can be combined with any of TSS’ additives to form your own pigment. The creator insists on not calling these “matte” shades - but as I define matte (that is, no sparkle or twinkle just the color) they’re matte. (So there.) There were never very many truly rich or vivid colors among the matte collection.

The SheSpace’s Hope Quest

The SheSpace’s Hope Quest
  • Manufacturer: The She Space / About Face Cosmetics
  • Availability: beginning May 2009 through TSS' online storefront
  • Contains: 4 mineral eyeshadow colors
  • Cost/Amount: USD$14 for the four jars (3-gram jar, no sifter)
  • Would you purchase again: yes

In late April 2009, a longtime client of The SheSpace, who had been suffering from depression, took her own life. In response to that tragic event, Heather created this quad. Each quad comes with two free additional jars of Hope No Matter What along with two small cards with uplifting, affirming messages printed on them - to be given away to a friend, a family member, even a casual acquaintance who needs to be reminded that they do matter.

Beauty Tip

Put your mascara in your pocket for 10 minutes before applying...especially in cold weather! It warms the mascara and lets it apply more easily.
