Slightly lighter and a more neutral than Exquisite. Exquisite is a red-orange with hints of pink iridescent shimmer, this is a tanned-orange with gold iridescent shimmer. Either shade is good - though Exquisite has just a little bit more color payoff.

This applies much softer than it appears in the pot. It looks very dark purple, almost black; but applies as a dusty violet. Coverage and opacity are a little bit better than most other NYX Chrome shadows. It's almost an elegant purple - it's what I think of when I visualize the color “aubergine” - though true aubergine is a deeper, darker purple.

Kind of an autumnal shade, in my opinion. It's the color of fall leaves: a rusty orange with faint pink iridescence. Opacity is good, application is easy and even, and this is one color that I'm glad it didn't apply as dark as it looked in the pot. The 70s-rust orange would have been good…but I actually like the applied result-color a bit better.

I wish this appeared on my skin, closer to the color that I see in the pot. When applied, it looks almost like a slightly more tired version of itself. If this were more sheer, it would almost be invisible. If it were more pigmented, it might be too bold. (Though I do kind of like really bold medium yellows like this…) It's good if you want a softer-looking yellow, not a gold but an actual yellow.

For those of us stateside, Nails Inc. is finally being carried at Sephora. They've had two of the magnetic polishes up there for a while, and have added the third - Whitehall Teal - in the last month or so. When I was in my local Sephora a few days ago after a job interview, I spotted the “flakie” sets on the shelves. I have the flakies I want; but if you're just getting into these, the Nails Inc. sets...

I don't know if it's the metallic finish making this look more like a dark charcoal than an actual black, or if it's the color itself. It is more of a deep charcoal or a soft black than a true intense jet black. It works very nicely, and defines well, just be aware that this won't be a rich, deep, pull-out-all-the-stops intense black shade.

The dry swatch looks the way it does because I didn't have much product on the brush…and didn't realize how it looked in the photograph. The color payoff is about the same as the other NYX Chrome shadows: fairly decent, not wonderfully bold or vivid, but a solid performer and a decent value for the money. I have a few greens that are close to this shade, but either they're just a smidge deeper or they're far more sheer.

I know I sound like I'm whining…but I really had hopes that this shade would be just a little deeper. It's a good color, decent payoff, not horribly light, it isn't a pink, and it's not semisheer. But…I was kind of hoping for a richer red. Now onto the positives of this shade. The color payoff is pretty close to what you see in the pot. The application is even, no bald spots. Color payoff is decent, and...
