MAC’s Naked pigment

MAC’s Naked pigment

This seems to be one of the “staples” that lots of MAC pigment users have in their collection. I wasn't too interested in adding it, but finally bought it. It's a near-matte finish, which generally doesn't thrill the daylights out of me…but this is a nicely opaque color and a good neutral shade. I have a few colors that are similar, but they either have a shimmer finish or aren't nearly as opaque. I can't really use this as...

Right on the border between pink and purple - I think it will show as one or the other depending on your coloring, lighting, and possibly the planetary alignment. It isn't so light that it's almost white, but it is a very very light color. It's a bit too pigmented to work well as a highlighter - though you could probably make that work if you used an extremely light hand and a very soft brush. It does have a...

I kind of wish that this color didn't have the blackened base - it would be a lovely green all on its own. I think that, because of the blackening, this would work decently as an accent color for a smokey eye; and that it will make a better eyeliner for me than a standard-use shade. (I haven't gotten the hang of smokey eyes yet; and honestly, since I don't have occasion to wear that look often, I probably won't...

As it turns out, this is a fairly decent set of brushes. They travel well, and there's only one brush in there that's not very useful to me: the fan brush. (I'll probably figure out how to use that in six or seven years.) The rest are really nice, a good assortment, and a great value. Generally this set of ten black-handled brushes goes for $30, but if you keep your eyes open for F&F and various other sales...

A pretty shade, almost like a lighter version of Sardonic…but surprisingly less color payoff than I would have expected from a MAC pigment. I got a chance at this color through someone's blog sale (along with Dazzleray and Helium) and I think I might have purchased this one if I had seen it in the store. I'm not 100% sure, though - the color's pretty, but the overall effect is fairly straightforward. It's the blue, no shimmer or sparkle finish,...

Lots of companies seem to put out an eyeshadow shade with a brown base and a blue or green iridescent shimmer; but not all of them have this amount of color payoff when the color's applied dry. Some of them also seem to put the iridescence over a lighter brown base, for whatever reason. This pigment is part of MAC's regular line, so you can find it any time; and it looks good either wet or dry. The turquoise is...
