Scaredy Cat Cosmetics’ Artifact

Scaredy Cat Cosmetics’ Artifact

The frost finish makes this color almost a pale brown-white, on application. When not in direct light, it looks a bit closer to its base color…but the finish still lightens it quite a bit.

The pearl finish moves this more toward the “pastel-ish” end of the rose spectrum. The finish doesn’t buff or blend away too much - I don’t get the color that I see in the pot, no matter what I try. It is nice to have a softer pink, though I sometimes need to remind myself how it will look, when I grab the jar.

NYX Cosmetics’ Simply Red lip cream in Knock Out

NYX Cosmetics’ Simply Red lip cream in Knock Out

A little bit warm, but not really red-orange. I got this color on sale, and while it isn’t quite as interse a shade as Candy Apple, it’s close. Not sure how often I will wear this shade, though if I go over it with finishing powder that might soften the color a bit.

TKB Trading’s Matte Purple Pop

TKB Trading’s Matte Purple Pop

This is such a great color! It’s almost indigo, but isn’t quite blue enough. It’s got a very solid color payoff. There is a little staining, but you can avoid that by using a cream base or primer.

Halfway between “pool-queue chalk” and a cool sapphire. This does stain a bit, so make sure you use a base, like a cream shadow or shadow pencil. Like all of the Pop colors, it has ingredients to increase longevity and make application easier, so while I still would use a primer or base with this, you don’t have to take as much care applying this as you would most of the rest of TKB’s colorants.

Dawn Eyes Cosmetics’ Divas and Dramas collection

Dawn Eyes Cosmetics’ Divas and Dramas collection

The Dramatica colors (which are apparently repromotes from a previous year’s Halloween collection) remind me a bit of Aromaleigh’s old Bete Noire colors: they’re very definitely blackened, and make amazing eyeliners. The final six colors in this collection are based off of the colorshifting Premiums - which are amazing and astounding and I urge everyone to check those out. (Multichromes that show the multichrome aspect without requiring the use of specific techniques or products!!) While these Divas...

This is almost a neutral brown. The frost finish isn’t quite smooth enough to be a pearl finish, but it doesn’t really block too much of the base shade. I don’t know that I have too many other browns like this, even with all of the browns that I have. (There may be a near-match from BE in there somewhere.)

TKB Trading’s Red Oxide

TKB Trading’s Red Oxide

I got this kind of on a whim. I knew that any oxide - that is, pure colorant either minimally adulterated by other ingredients or not diluted at all - would have extremely good color payoff. I wasn’t sure how good its staying power would be, though. It’s just barely warm in some lighting, more of an orange-red in others. I could probably use this as a lip color. I ended up applying it slightly dampened with facial...
